British Arrows partners with Create Jobs

Supporting emerging young talent.

6 January 2021

British Arrows is delighted to be partnering with Create Jobs at A New Direction to launch their Future Creative Content Now course.

The six-week, multidisciplinary, content creation course will allow young creatives to gain and develop skills in digital storytelling & production. Recognising that during this time of crisis the creative and digital economy has a critical role to play, the course, which commences in February 2021 and has 25 places, is part of the wider Create Jobs Future Now Programme and aims to provide the world with more of the diverse talent it needs to build resilience for the future.

2020 has provided challenges for even the most creative of folk, but what shone through is that the love of storytelling still remains as strong as ever. If we saw anything this year, it was that creativity comes in all shapes and sizes and this is reflected in the fact that many young people are now showcasing their talents in a multi-faceted way, with a variety of interests and passions united through a love of storytelling. This programme will support young people to tell their stories while showcasing how the creative industry fits together and how they can join the dots via their own ambitions.

As a keen supporter of upcoming talent, British Arrows were set to launch their Young Arrows programme this year, however the decision was made to push this back until we could all be together safely again in real life. However, wanting to continue our support of young creatives, we jumped at the chance to get behind the Create Jobs programme.

“At British Arrows we are big fans of supporting emerging young talent & Future Creative Content, Now is an exciting way for us to do this. After such a hard year for everyone, we are proud to be getting behind a programme that we know will produce some fantastic content and perhaps even some Arrows winners of the future,” say Clare Donald and Jani Guest, Co-Chair of British Arrows.

Recognising that London is one of the most diverse cities in the world, Create Jobs is committed to supporting the diverse talent that exists in it. Through their work, Create Jobs have trained hundreds of young people and created over 500 paid roles with data demonstrating that they consistently work with underrepresented young people including Black Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, disabled, neurodiverse and D/deaf participants.

“In addition to ensuring our courses are fully representative of London’s diverse community to cement their place & voice in the future workforce, we are also committed to making sure they are industry relevant rather than working in a vacuum. As such, they are carefully co-designed with leading WorldClass industry partners and we are really excited to be working with the British Arrows & their partners on this forthcoming programme,” said Fran Plowright, Senior Partnerships Manager, Create Jobs.

We’re delighted to be supporting this programme and wish applicants all the best. Applications are open now and close on 18 January. Further information on the programme, can be found here.

Future Creative Content Now is supported by the Mayors Digital Talent Progamme, funded through LEAP, and Stride.
