Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) has been uniting the UK against suicide since 2006. That means standing against feeling hopeless, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. CALM exists to change that - by offering life-saving services, provoking national conversation, and bringing people together to reject living miserably. Through their campaigns they challenge stereotypes and challenge the stigma that prevents people talking about suicide, using music, sport, art and anything in between to get their message across and to help people find the strength to seek help. From Project 84 to The Invisible Opponent, to the multi-award winning The Last Photo their campaigns create real impact, get people talking and, crucially, change the conversation around suicide. Working with some of the biggest organisations in the UK they’ve achieved amazing things, including the appointment of the world’s first ever minister for suicide prevention.
