James Bamford

Colourist, The Mill

I’m honored to have been asked to be part of this year's British Arrows CRAFT Jury. With the best will in the world, without Craft, even the most innovative ideas and intentions lose their way. This encourages excellence and innovation in our contemporaries, in future work and ultimately demonstrates what we can do as an industry at the highest level. I’m looking forward to celebrating some of the past year’s top talent, ideas and award-winning craftsmanship.

James Bamford is a Colourist who has been part of The Mill’s award-winning colour team since 2003.

His most recent creative highlights include Nike ‘Turkey’, Guinness ‘Alive Inside’, Lipton ‘The Revolution in Tea’, Honda ‘Ignition’ and John Lewis ‘Man on the Moon’.

Other notable creative work includes KFC ‘Rodeo’, Audi ‘Land of Quattro’, Thomas Cook ‘Pool Kid’ and Volvo’s multi award winning commercial ‘The Split’.

James also regularly applies his grading skills to music promos as well as commercials. His recent promo credits include work with electronic duo Major Lazer ‘Light It Up’, Tame Impala ‘Let it Happen’ and Jessie Ware ‘Champagne Kisses’.

He was this year presented with not one but two awards at the Creative Circle Awards; a Gold for Best Colourist on Honda ‘Ignition’ and a Silver for Best Colourist for his work on Lipton ‘The Revolution in Tea’.
