George Kyriacou

Colourist, MPC

The British Arrows have been important to me for many years now, and it's a great privilege to be part of the judging panel. As we all strive to achieve creative work to the highest level, it's these awards that recognise the hard work that everyone puts in.

George began his colour grading career in 1996, working on music videos and quickly transitioned to commercials as well as long-form drama.  He has twice been awarded ‘Best Colourist’ at the UK Music Video Awards: most recently, in 2014 for his work on Paloma Faith's stylish promo ‘Can’t Rely on You.’ He has also featured in Televisual’s ‘Top 10 Best Colourist’ poll four times.

Since moving to MPC in 2008, George regularly collaborates with top global directors such as James Rouse, Johnny Hardstaff, Noam Murro, Sebastian Strasser and Jörn Threlfall.  He recently worked on James W. Griffiths short film ‘Room 8’, which won the 2014 BAFTA for British Short Film.

Part of George’s archive includes working with Sam Brown on Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ which won Best Music Video at The Grammy’s 2012; the famous Prometheus ‘Happy Birthday David’ viral directed by Johnny Hardstaff, promoting the launch for Ridley Scott's much anticipated film, and the award winning Harvey Nichols ‘I Spent it on Myself’, directed by James Rouse.
