Chairman, From Good to Great
It’s more than a combination of an idea and craft that delivers great work - It’s PASSION
I joined Ogilvy as a post boy in 1980 (with Nick Bell). Somehow blagged my way onto the graduate training programme and went from there.
As an account man I worked out that the best way to get on in the business was to stand as close as possible to the best creative people and hope a few things brushed off. I was lucky to work at CDP in its glory days, WCRS, Abbott Mead and JWT.
I swung both ways and went client side a few times with Dot.com start-ups - TwoWay TV and Sharepeople.
Then landed in between the two, setting up Oystercatchers with Suki Thompson 12 years ago. The business was acquired by Centaur media 2 years ago and I am currently on a cycling adventure around Europe having a wonderful time.
One major highlight of my career was winning a silver British Arrow with Graham Fink and Jeremy Clark for Land Rover, Dambusters - The Best 4x4xFar and I still have it.
