We work in an industry dependent on our time and dedication, so it's crucial to celebrate all those departments and individuals that elevate the work to something truly special. Like a team chiseling a block of marble, every vision, mark and cut adds to the life and character of the piece. It can be made or broken in this way. The Craft awards, at The British Arrows 2017, celebrate the talent, effort and artistry that leads to Masterpieces. As such, the award is a benchmark that is truly coveted. I am greatly honoured to be have been asked on the jury.

As a graduate in Fine Art from Chelsea School of Art and accomplished cellist, pianist and dancer, appreciation of the arts and craft has always been instinctive. Julia Knight joins Work Editorial with a versatile career that has been built on storytelling across all genres.

Knight’s extensive portfolio has earned recognition from British Arrows, Clios, London International Awards, Creative Circle and APA - commercials such as NSPCC The $#*! Kids Say directed by BAFTA winning Amanda Boyle. Further commercials include Guinness, Axe, Swiss Airlines, Samsung, BMW, Ford, Calvin Klein and Thomson to name a few, with directors such as Nabil Elderkin, Scott Lyon, Jake Nava and Georgi Banks-Davies. Knight is also proud to have recently edited a United Nations film with Richard Curtis and ‘Project Everyone,’ a not for profit agency established by Richard Curtis to champion sustainable development and climate change.

Collaborating with some of the industry’s leading music video directors such as WIZ, Tim Pope, Shynola amongst others on music videos for Beyoncé, Alt-J, Paul McCartney, FKA Twigs, James Blake, Coldplay and John Legend, picking up UKMVA and NME Awards, Knight was also involved in “50 Years of British Music Video 1965-2015” – a two-year project with a panel of industry creatives to advise on the conservation of selected videos for BFI’s National Film Archive. Her Arctic Monkeys Arabella is included for ‘most ground breaking or influential editing in a UK video during the last 50 years’.
