Former VP Marketing, McDonald's
Any great communication needs a strong idea, based on a human truth at its heart. But without brilliance of craft in the execution, it will leave people unmoved and be entirely forgettable. It’s the difficult combination of the two that elevates the work into something truly magical and meaningful for us all.
Emily recently left her role as VP Marketing and Food Development for McDonald's UK & Ireland and is currently doing some freelance consultancy.
She joined the McDonald’s UK leadership team in 2015 and led the brand through a period of unprecedented transformation of the customer experience.
Her time with the brand saw a renaissance of creative output. Resulting in higher than ever ROI as well as record numbers of creative and effectiveness awards.
Prior to McDonald's Emily worked agency side. She was MD at Havas WW London and held senior positions at Leo Burnett, where she ran the McDonald's account. Before Leo Burnett Emily worked for 8 years at the BBC and Red Bee Media, which the in-house creative department of the BBC became when it was sold. She began her career in advertising and has worked at Abbott Mead Vickers, Lowe Howard-Spink and Bainsfair Sharkey Trott.
Throughout Emily’s career she has always held strong values based on authenticity, integrity, customer obsession and a belief that creative thinking is the key to unlock business success.
She has a long-term partner, Rob and two wonderful step-daughters Daisy, 15 and Ruby, 12.
