Walter Mair is an award-winning composer living in London known for his captivating original scores, ranging from feature films and television dramas to narrative-driven interactive entertainment.
His latest projects include Oliver Hirschbiegel’s International Cold War series for Netflix, The Same Sky, which premiered at the 2017 Berlin Film Festival, the Universal Pictures’ documentary feature, Ronaldo, the Threepenny Opera by Joachim Lang, based on Bertholt Brecht’s Beggar’s Opera, as well as the upcoming film Lucid, directed by Adam Morse and 3 Way Junction starring Tommy Flanagan, Tom Sturridge and Stacy Martin.
His extensive body of work ranges from epic full orchestral scores recorded with 80-piece orchestras to intimate, small ensemble and hybrid electronic scores, including Toby Tobias’ thriller Blood Orange starring Ben Lamb and Iggy Pop; and edgy television drama series such as BBC 1’s Cuffs from the producers of Ripper Street and E4’s teen drama series Glue, written by Jack Thorne. His music can also be heard in Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto video games, Sony’s sci-fi franchise Killzone, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction and The Creative Assembly’s Total War series.
Walter maintains a state-of-the art recording studio in Soho, London and is a member of BAFTA and BASCA.
